Club Questions & Answers


Are LVU and PA Rush merging?

No. Lehigh Valley United and Pennsylvania Rush will operate independently, with all existing programming.


How will this impact existing teams for Fall 2023?

Existing LVU and PA Rush teams will stay intact. Players selected for LVU Rush can dual-roster with their existing team.


Will LVU Rush impact Lehigh Valley United or Pennsylvania Rush resources?

No. LVU Rush will operate as a separate entity with its own budget.


Does this mean LVU and PA Rush will have fewer teams in 2023-2024?

No. LVU and PA Rush will continue to provide all existing programming.


Can an LVU or PA Rush USYS player also play for LVU Rush?

Yes. Each LVU Rush team will have an allocated number of discovery players, which may play in a limited number of LVU Rush games as well as for their respective teams.


Where will LVU Rush train?

Practice and game fields will be allocated by LVU and PA Rush with the intention of maximizing accessibility for all LVU Rush families. 


Who will coach LVU Rush teams?

LVU Rush will have its own coaching staff, which is projected to include some current LVU and PA Rush coaches. 


Is there an allotted number of slots for LVU and PA Rush players?

No. There is no player allocation allotment for partner clubs. The best players will be selected for each team regardless of their previous club affiliation.


Will I be fairly evaluated if I don’t currently play for LVU or PA Rush?

Yes. LVU Rush intends to compete and win, and we need the best players to do so. Try-outs will be conducted by staff from both LVU and PA Rush, and like-minded, demonstrably high quality players will be selected for LVU Rush regardless of club affiliation.   


Why ECNL?

ECNL provides one of the country’s best male and female youth leagues.  The ECNL provides the structure, competition and showcase events that allow players to develop into collegiate-level athletes while still enjoying the high school team experience. 


Is playing time guaranteed?

Playing time is earned based on ability, attitude, and game circumstances.


How long are the games?

Game lengths per age group are

U13: two 35 min halves

U14-16: two 40 min halves

U17-19: two 45 min halves


How many players will be on each team?

U13-16: 16-18 players 

U17-19: 18-22 players

Each team may also have training players practice with them.


How often do teams travel?

4-6 times a year, primarily within the region, with some national travel.


Can I play ECNL/ECNL-RL and high school?

Yes. ECNL & ECNL-RL games and showcases will take precedence in case of conflict however.


Can I play ECNL/ECNL-RL and other sports?

Players must attend all training sessions, games, and showcases for LVU Rush. If a player is able to make those commitments, then yes, they are welcome to play other sports.
